This study investigates households' vulnerability to climate variability in selected areas and highlights their reliance on non-timber forest products (NTFPs) as a key adaptation strategy. While NTFPs enhance resilience to climate change, several factors undermine their effectiveness. These include anthropogenic degradation, by-law implications, perceived unfair trade practices, and seasonal fluctuations in NTFP availability. Local communities suggest solutions, such as forest conservation and value-addition to NTFPs. The study recommends timely dissemination of climate information by government and private sector collaboration to enhance adaptation efforts. It also emphasizes the importance of participatory forest policy formulation, sustainable NTFP utilization, and the regulation of NTFP markets to ensure fair returns for local traders.
