DETERMINANTS OF ARABLE CROP FARMERS’ KNOWLEDGE OF CLIMATE-SMART AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES IN ONDO STATE, NIGERIA: AN ORDERED PROBIT ANALYSIS .

This study assessed the knowledge level of arable crop farmers regarding climate-smart agricultural (CSA) practices in the agricultural zones of Ondo State, Nigeria. A multistage sampling technique was employed to select 203 respondents. Descriptive statistics—such as frequency counts, percentages, and Weighted Mean Score (WMS)—were used to describe farmers’ socio-economic characteristics, sources of information, and knowledge levels on CSA practices. An ordered probit regression model was employed to test the study hypothesis. Results indicated that radio, Facebook, and WhatsApp were the predominant sources of information on CSA. The study concluded that access to information and targeted training significantly influence farmers’ knowledge and adoption of CSA.
